Liberty Spring Christian Church, located at 4213 Whaleyville Blvd. in Suffolk, will host a FREE Small Church Missions Conference Sept. 29 through Oct. 1. The event begins at 7 p.m. Friday, with a worship kickoff featuring music from the Compassion Church band and a message from Dr. Rodney Orr, dean of the Washington, D.C., campus of Dallas Theological Seminary. Saturday's program will include a Missions Forum from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring representatives from 20 or so local, regional, and international missional ministries on hand to answer questions about their work and how you can be involved in it. There will be morning and afternoon workshops on missions topics. And all who attend can enjoy free food from two different food trucks. The conference concludes Sunday with a 10 a.m. message from Dr. Chris Surber, pastor of First Congregational Church in Naples, Fla., and founder of the ministry, Supply and Multiply, which serves in Haiti and other Latin American nations.
